O’Leary confident of EU approval for airport deal

RYANAIR expects the EU Commission investigation will clear its deal with Charleroi Airport near Brussels.

However, the airline is expecting the length of the contract to be reduced.

Speaking in Brussels yesterday, the airline’s chief executive Michael O’Leary said the investigations into the contract with Charleroi Airport - who provided the airline with marketing support and other benefits in return for launching new routes out of the airport - had dragged on long enough and he urged the Commission to publish its findings, saying the delay was causing uncertainty in the markets.
