US Congress urged to probe cruise ship teen’s death

THE US Congress is being urged to investigate the death of a Dublin teenager who fell from an American-owned cruise ship.

Lynsey O’Brien, 15, died in January when fell off a balcony on board the Costa Magica, which had sailed from Florida. She had earlier been drinking cocktails.

It is unclear whether anyone could be held legally accountable over the death, which happened in international waters and outside US jurisdiction.
