Last pictures of French student beaten to death

CCTV pictures of a young French student taken just minutes before she was bludgeoned to death in London have been released.

Amelie Delagrange is shown boarding a bus as she made her way home last Thursday evening.

The 22-year-old was bludgeoned to death as she took a short cut home across a cricket pitch on Twickenham Green in south west London.

Police yesterday said they believed her killer may have been hiding in wait for her behind a cricket sight screen. The new images show her boarding the 267 bus outside the Old Post House Sorting House pub in London Road at 9.39pm that night.

It is thought she was murdered shortly after 10pm.

Detectives believe it is possible that a serial killer obsessed with young blonde women may be on the loose.

They are exploring possible links between the latest murder and attacks on three other women, all of whom were blonde.

Detectives hope the new picture could help jog the memories of people who saw Amelie that night.

The woman pictured standing behind her as she boarded the bus has been traced by the police and spoken to already.
