Drowned mother reported by relative weeks ago

A YOUNG mother who drowned her two daughters before killing herself had been reported to social services in the last few weeks by a relative.

As mourners gather tonight for the removal of the remains of 29-year-old Sharon Grace, her daughters, Michaela, four, and Abbi, three, it emerged that social services had been alerted in the past six weeks. The Health Services Executive declined to comment last night, saying it could not discuss individual cases.

It also emerged yesterday that Sharon Grace’s sister, Lillian, had called to her home on Saturday morning, the day she died. She said her sister was upset and crying and that they planned to have a heart to heart later that day.
