Turkey escapes injuries after earthquake

A MODERATE earthquake shook eastern Turkey yesterday. There were no reports of injuries or property damage.

The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 4.0 and was centred in Sivrice, a town in the province of Elazig, some 450 miles south east of Ankara, the capital.
