US soldier found guilty of conspiracy charge

A MILITARY jury convicted US army reservist Sabrina Harman early yesterday on all but one of the seven charges she faced for her role at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal.

A panel at Fort Hood, Texas, convicted Harman on one count of conspiracy to maltreat detainees, four of maltreating detainees and one of dereliction of duty.

The 27-year-old from Lorton, Virginia, was acquitted on one maltreatment count.
