Paramilitary warlords in surrender move

RIGHT-WING paramilitary warlords have formally surrendered control of a government-granted safe haven in north-west Colombia, in a step towards wrapping up demobilisation talks.

More than 300 soldiers and police officers immediately moved into the 370-square-kilometre zone around the cattle-ranching town of Santa Fe de Ralito and pledged to restore government authority and services.
