IRAN President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hinted yesterday that his country would consider withdrawing from the UN nuclear agency if membership produced no benefit.

In wide-ranging remarks, Mr Ahmadinejad also said that Israel was an artificial state that could not continue to exist.

“Some 60 years has passed since the end of the Second World War, why should the people of Germany and Palestine pay now for a war in which the current generation was not involved,” he told a press conference. “We say that this fake regime (Israel) cannot logically continue to live,” he said.
