Amazon is hiring game developers with 26 positions open for its “ambitious new PC game project.”

The company says that it’s building a ā€œteam of top talentā€ for this project. Those successful will join a team of developers who have the likes of Half Life 2, Dota 2, Halo, Shadows of Mordor, and The Last of Us under their belt.

Amazon clearly isn’t messing around. It says that it’s currently working on game experiences that ā€œpush the boundaries of technology.ā€

The jobs and job descriptions themselves don’t provide any real indication as to what the game will be.

Amazon acquired gameplay streaming website Twitch last year. It will be interested to see how this is utilised for the upcoming game. At the very least, we’d expect the game to be featured prominently on the streaming service.

Amazon has been developing free-to-play Facebook games since 2012. Its game development interests seem to be getting more serious.
