MICHAEL Carrick ‘knows the house’ at Old Trafford and is the right man to take Manchester United forward according to the players he has stirred from their Premier League slumber.
Under blue skies at Carton House in Maynooth, Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo today endorsed the interim United boss who has lost just one of his ten Premier League games in charge.
"He has a lot of experience and he knows the club, the DNA. He knows the house and he wants to qualify for the Champions League next season," said striker Mbeumo.
Winger Amad Diallo knows Carrick from the time he worked under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer as an U23 coach.
"We think he’s the right man. He played for the club. He has great experience, relationship with every player is very good. Sometimes this type of manager is what the club need," said Diallo.
"I personally feel he’s the right man but it’s not the players who make the decision."
Mbeumo also hailed the work of Keith Andrews, whom he worked with at Brentford, and has The Bees on course for a breakthrough Euro qualification.
"He (Andrews) was a big part of our (Brentford) success last season. He had taken on the set-pieces, but already had the capacity to motivate and to bring the best out of ourselves.
"I’m not surprised what he’s doing this season. I’m very happy for him for what he’s doing."
Mbeumo revealed he keeps in touch with Irish captain Nathan Collins, who hails from nearby Leixlip: "He’s a good leader, strong voice and a motivator for his team-mates. I told him I was coming here. We still have a good relationship."

Few United stars signed more autographs after training than Harry Maguire, who has penned a new deal to stay at the club for another season.
"Harry is a big leader, on the pitch and in the dressing room. I’m very happy for his extension. It’s very important for the team," said Diallo.
Both men passed when asked about the AFCON Senegal-Morocco impasse. "No comment," they grinned.
After a three-week break United return to action against Leeds United on Monday, and are due in Croke Park against the same opponents on August 12.
The game is at risk should Leeds win the FA Cup or suffer relegation to the Championship.
