Kieran Shannon: If Patrick O’Donovan wants people to be quiet, the government must make some noise

O’Donovan’s statement is also a bit of a rebuke to those that came before them and in whose steps they are trying to follow, highlighting certain political situations and boycotting certain sporting events

So, according to our minister of sport, they’re only headline-chasers. Agitators. Bandwagoners.

People like Stephen Bradley and Joey O’Brien, who between them have coached the last six Premier Division champions of the League of Ireland, and you would have mistakenly thought would be entitled to their view on what their sport’s flagship team should or shouldn’t do.
