Republic of Ireland international Leanne Kiernan has sealed a loan move to Women's Super League 2 outfit Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

Striker Kiernan departs parent club Liverpool in the same month the Reds secured the services of her Ireland teammate Denise O'Sullivan, however, she will be joining the Irish contingent of Chloe Mustaki and Jessie Stapleton at Forest.

The 26-year-old Cavan native makes the switch having played seven times for Liverpool this season and will likely make her Forest debut against Birmingham City on Sunday, February 1.

Forest Women's head coach, Carly Davies, said: “We are delighted to have Leanne join the club for the remainder of the season from Liverpool.

“Leanne is a player with proven quality at the highest level both on the domestic and international level. She brings a wealth of experience in this league, having won the division with Liverpool in 2021/22.

“She will bring a new dynamic to our attacking threat, and we are excited to see her play in the Garibaldi Red.”

Kiernan added: “I’m really pleased to have joined Nottingham Forest.

“I can’t wait to get started with this team and begin playing with this talented group of players.”
