The new Men's League of Ireland Premier Division and First Division seasons are almost upon us, as is the new Women's Premier Division campaign.
Unfortunately for Cork City, 2025 was a difficult year for both their male and female stars and they will be looking to right those wrongs in 2026.
The City men will be aiming to win their third First Division title in five years and secure a return to the top flight of Irish football.
To help them do so, they have brought in a new manager in the former of Barry Robson who replaced Ger Nash during the winter.
And speaking at the League of Ireland launch on Wednesday, Fiacre Kelleher told our soccer correspondent John Fallon how he has found working with the new man so far
And as for the City women, they finished bottom of the Women's Premier Division last year.
But also speaking to John Fallon, the attacking midfielder is confident better times are on the horizon under their own new manager Barry Ryan.
