Troy Parrott continues to do what he does best. Score goals.
The Republic of Ireland striker, who’s excellent form has seen him attract interest from a number of clubs including Fulham, was on the scoresheet once again for AZ Alkmaar as he netted the opening goal in their 1-1 with his former club Excelsior on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old has shown he is capable to score in a number of different ways this season but his latest finish was a typical poachers strike as he was the first to respond when an initial shot was saved by the keeper and coolly rolled it home.

The results leaves AZ sitting in seventh place, just behind Twente and just ahead of Sparta Rotterdam on goal difference but a massive 23 points adrift of leaders PSV.
But on a personal level, the goal sees Parrott increase his league tally for the season to 10, but that is now 20 in all competitions for the Dutch side and 25 for the campaign for both club and country.
And it’s still only January.
