Manchester United keen on Lammens or Martínez as new goalkeeper option

Manchester United are intent on signing either Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp or Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa to strengthen Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping options before the close of the transfer window.

United are thought to prefer Lammens due to his age (23) and price (about £17million), with interest registered in the Belgian towards the end of last month. The Belgian is viewed as someone who could dislodge André Onana or Altay Bayindir and become the club’s No 1 on a long-term basis. But with the player not being given any guarantees of a first-team place under Amorim, there is acknowledgement at United that he may be reluctant to join.
