Jack Byrne turns 29 next week and by now should be an Ireland regular according to many people’s predictions.
Highly rated through the ranks at Manchester City by Patrick Vieira, then a Championship debutant at 20 and soon part of Mick McCarthy’s international squad, the midfielder was hailed as Ireland’s future.
