Virgil van Dijk has said there has been progress over a new contract at Liverpool, with talks ongoing over extending his stellar Anfield career.

The Liverpool captain is one of three major assets out of contract at the end of the season and, along with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, yet to sign an extension despite several months of negotiations.
