Heimir Hallgrimsson was delighted with his Republic of Ireland players' efforts in overcoming Bulgaria in the UEFA Nations League playoff first leg away to Bulgaria on Thursday night.

Hallgrímsson’s decision to start Ryan Manning, Finn Azaz and Troy Parrott was rewarded with a positive performance and 2-1 victory in Plovdiv.
