French defender Milan Mbeng has joined newly-promoted Cork City for their 2025 Premier Division campaign.

The 22-year-old centre-back, who had spells at EA Guingamp and Charleroi, featured for City in recent pre-season friendlies against Bohemians and Waterford.

Mbeng said: “I am really grateful to sign for Cork City, and I’m happy to start a new adventure in Ireland. I can't wait to play for this big club.”

City boss Tim Clancy has been gradually assembling his squad for the season kicking off against John Caulfield’s Galway United at Turner’s Cross

“Milan has been in with us for a few weeks now, so we’ve been able to have a good look at him,” said the City boss.

“He’s impressed in the games he’s played in, and we are pleased with how he’s settled in, so it’s great to have him signed up ahead of the start of the season.”
