Cian Coleman has signed for Cobh Ramblers after the defender was released by Cork City at the end of last season.

The 28-year-old has made over 200 appearances in the League of Ireland across spells with City, St Patrick’s Athletic, Shelbourne, and also during his previous spell with Ramblers.

Coleman, who captained City in the Premier Division in 2023 and helped the club land the First Division titles in 2022 and 2024, joins his former City team-mates Jack Doherty, Cian Bargary, and Cian Murphy in Cobh.

“It’s great to sign for Cobh Ramblers FC," said Coleman, who made 26 appearance for the Rams in 2017.

"After speaking to Mick, he told me about the ambition of the club and it’s something I’m very excited about. I’m looking forward to getting going and meeting all the lads.

"I feel I have good experience that can help the players around me and the aim is to have a very successful season.”

Mick McDermott added: “When we discovered that Cian was available, we immediately took action to bring him to Cobh.

"He is a player that has a proven track record, great ability combined with tremendous leadership qualities.

"As I’ve said since the time I arrived in Cobh- the target is to build a team that our community can be proud of. I have no doubt that Cian is a strong addition to our club.”
