Scottish police have opened an investigation after Dundee United’s Irish manager Jim Goodwin was pelted with missiles during a feisty win over his former Aberdeen side on Sunday.

Waterford native Goodwin endured an ill-fated 11-month term as Dons boss up to January 2023 and had to withstand a vodka bottle, coins and firelighters being thrown at him during the late victory at Tannadice.
