Sligo Rovers have rewarded manager John Russell with a two-year extension tying him down at the Showgrounds until 2026 after his side's impressive second half to the League of Ireland season.

The Bit O'Red sit in sixth place but in a wildly unpredictable Premier Division season are just seven points off leaders Shelbourne with a game in hand and firmly in the hunt for European qualification.
