Shelbourne can go level with Athlone Town next Saturday in the women’s national league after a weekend in which the Midlanders missed out on clinching a first title.

After Shels beat third-placed Galway United 1-0 at Eamonn Deacy Park earlier in the day, Town couldn’t seal the deal against Shamrock Rovers.
