From his initial congested phase to a surreal lull that follows Thursday’s visit to Waterford, Stephen Kenny is adapting to his League of Ireland return as St Patrick’s Athletic boss.

Both teams have hit form recently – Premier Division newcomers Waterford up to third in the table – but European and FAI Cup commitments means this is the sole league fixture in July for the Saints.
