Stephen Kenny has dismissed the notion of rebooting St Patrick’s Athletic into title contenders during his first year back in the League of Ireland.

Kenny’s first match at the helm – Friday’s 1-0 home defeat to Derry City – was the Saints’ seventh defeat of the season ahead of reaching the halfway point with Monday’s visit of leaders Shelbourne to Inchicore.
