Stephen Kenny says domestic circumstances influenced his decision to end his pursuit of an overseas job in favour of accepting the St Patrick’s Athletic vacancy.

Kenny was back on the Abbotstown pitch today seven months after losing his job as Ireland manager, the first day of the five-and-a-half year contract tabled by Saints owner Garrett Kelleher.
