In the latest bout of volatility at basement side Dundalk, club legend Brian Gartland has departed the club in a decision “that wasn’t easy” for owner Brian Ainscough.

Gartland had enjoyed an uninterrupted 11 years at the club, primarily as a player in all five of their title successes up to 2019 and fulfilling a newly created role of football operations lead in January 2023 following his retirement from playing.
