Gavin Bazunu Misjudged positioning when Silvan Widmer headed across goal early on, saved a tricky Vincent Sierro attempt soon after and was fortunate to see a Granit Xhaka shot come back off the post. Xherdan Shaqiri’s goal was well placed, though.

Andrew Omobamidele Produced a couple of key interceptions with the Swiss targeting Ireland’s right flank and had Ireland’s first clear chance with a header in the 37th minute that was easily saved. Heavily involved before being subbed.
