'Hardest decision of my life' - Shels captain Luke Byrne confirms retirement

Shelbourne captain Luke Byrne has retired from professional football due to ongoing knee problems, 

Byrne, 30, joined the club in 2019 from Shamrock Rovers and played 20 times this season in the League of Ireland as Shels finished fourth, their highest placing since 2006.
