The second half of Ireland's Women's UEFA Nations League clash against Albania will resume having been delayed by one hour due to significant rainfall in Shkoder.
The first half at the Loro Borici Stadium was heavily impacted by severe weather conditions with numerous puddles forming on the surface.
With both teams, but particularly the Girls in Green, struggling to move the ball around the pitch, the score remained 0-0 at the break when the referee decided to postpone kick off for the second period.
The FAI announced on Twitter during the break; "The referee has decided to suspend play for 60 minutes due to the weather conditions. A decision will then be made whether the game can be resumed."
As the rain eased, the ground staff at the venue worked on the pitch in an effort to ensure the game reached a conclusion on the night.
It seems to have worked as the FAI posted the following updated; "The referee has decided that the game will continue.
"Should conditions worsen, the referee will inform both teams as to what the next course of action will be."
The match had initially been shown live on RTÉ2 but the second half will now be shown on the RTÉ News Channel.
