ERLING Haaland scored twice as he helped underline the glaringly obvious football gulf that now exists in the city of Manchester; one which has added to Erik ten Hag’s mounting early-season woes.

It took the Norwegian, still not appearing to be on the same ruthless level which heralded the start to his English career 12 months ago, onto 13 goals in league and cup for Pep Guardiola’s team this season.
