Robbie Keane and Rory Delap have been forced to flee Israel following the attack from Palestinian militant group Hamas.

Keane, who is the current manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Delap, who is his assistant, reportedly spent hours in a panic room before eventually making it to Greece safely.

It has also been reported that the death toll from Hamas’ wide-ranging incursion into Israel has risen to 600 as Israeli soldiers battled militants in the streets on Sunday and launched retaliation strikes that levelled buildings in Gaza.

Maccabi were due to play Hapoel Jerusalem on Sunday afternoon before all matches in the region were postponed. They are currently top of the league after five games.

A statement from the club read: “The Maccabi Tel Aviv club, its managers, players and employees give strength to the security forces, the residents of the south and of all Israel in these difficult times.

"Please listen to the instructions of security forces and stay safe.”
