Ian Hendon will take charge of Waterford’s promotion/relegation playoff final against UCD on Friday after the League of Ireland club moved swiftly to replace sacked manager Marc Bircham.

Hendon played for Tottenham Hotspur, Leyton Orient, Sheffield Wednesday, and Barnet during a 20-year career, winning seven England Under-21 caps.
