Conor McCarthy scored but St Mirren's Scottish Cup run came to an end as Glenn Middleton’s second-half star cameo ensured St Johnstone remain on course for a trophy double.

The former Cork City centre-back's late goal was not enough to deny St Johnstone another date with destiny as they beat St Mirren 2-1 to claim a place in the Scottish Cup final.
