Stephen Kenny’s U21 tenure starts against Luxembourg

Stephen Kenny’s competitive reign as Ireland U21 manager will begin and end with games against Luxembourg before he steps up to take over from Mick McCarthy as senior manager in 2020.

At that point, the Irish U21s will have completed nine of their 10 qualifying games for the 2021 finals, meaning Kenny will miss the final game, away to Group One top seeds Italy, in October 2020.
