Ireland’s fixtures confirmed for UEFA Nations League
The Republic of Ireland’s Group B4 fixtures have been confirmed for the inaugural UEFA Nations League, writes Stephen Barry.
Ireland will travel to Wales on the opening night of action, Thursday, September 6, bidding to repeat their heroics of last October.
They will be available for a friendly on matchday two (September 9 to 11), as Denmark face Wales.
Ireland will host back-to-back fixtures at the Aviva Stadium in October, with Denmark visiting on Saturday, October 13, before Wales visit the following Tuesday.
Ireland will have another day-off or friendly on matchday five (November 15 to 17) while Wales host Denmark, before Ireland visit the Danes for the potential promotion/ relegation decider on Monday, November 19.

The group winners will be promoted to League A and enter a play-off along with the other League B group winners for a place at Euro 2020.
The bottom side of the three will be relegated to League C.
In Group B3, Northern Ireland will open by hosting Bosnia and Herzegovina (Saturday, September 8), before travelling to Austria (Friday, October 12) and Bosnia (Monday, October 15) in back-to-back games.
They will welcome Austria to Windsor Park for the final group game on Sunday, November 18.
