Airtricity League round-up: Lee Chin makes his Wexford debut as Dundalk return to winning ways

Dundalk have gone eight points clear at the top of the Airtricity League Premier Division.

The defending champions recovered from conceding to Lukas Schubert after just six minutes to beat Derry City 3-1 at Oriel Park tonight.

Goals from John Mountney, Brian Gartland and Dave McMillan means that Dundalk have opened-up a cushion over title rivals Cork City who play Sligo Rovers tomorrow.

Also in the top-flight, Bohemians were 1-0 winners over Longford Town at Dalymount Park, with Kurtis Byrne the scorer.

Shamrock Rovers have moved up to third place after a 4-2 victory over Galway United at the Tallaght Stadium.

But Wexford Youths' hopes of avoiding relegation have suffered a blow after a 3-1 loss to Bray Wanderers.

Lee Chin was a notable debutant for Youths and the former hurler even threatened a goal early on.

Tonight's other Premier Division fixture between Finn Harps and St Pat's had to be postponed because of an unplayable pitch at Finn Park.

In the First Division, Cabinteely were 1-0 winners over Drogheda United and the other two fixtures both finished in 1-1 draws – Athlone Town and UCD cancelled each other out and Shelbourne and Limerick shared the points at Tolka Park.
