Manchester United defender Luke Shaw to miss EFL Cup clash at Northampton

Luke Shaw is set to miss Manchester United's trip to Northampton and Anthony Martial is a doubt for the EFL Cup third-round tie.

Left-back Shaw sustained a slight groin tear in Sunday's defeat to Watford, which forward Martial left during the first half following a nasty-looking clash of heads.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is also a doubt for a match Phil Jones (knee) misses out on, while Jose Mourinho will be tempted to make more changes on Wednesday, as he did in the Europa League at Feyenoord last week.
