Twitter quick to forgive Lucas after his mistake for Leicester's goal

Thankfully, for Liverpool it didn't make too much difference to the result.

Lucas Leiva got a bit of a slagging on Twitter after his mistake at Anfield today.

The Reds were 2-0 up after goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane in the first half hour of the game, and they looked comfortable.

That is until the Brazilian gifted a goal for champions Leicester before the break.

He got the ball from Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet just outside the penalty area when a bad touch took it away from him slightly.

With Leicester's Shinji Okazaki putting him under pressure, Lucas toe-poked the ball back in Mignolet's direction, only for it to fall perfectly for Jamie Vardy to stroke it into the net.

As expected, Twitter pounced on the error.

Liverpool came to play.

But it wasn't long before others were thinking people should give the Brazilian a break.

If one considers that Milner & Lucas are midfielders, Liverpool are effectively playing with just two at the back. Against the champions...
