FAI commissions independent review into Athlone Town’s failure to fulfil fixture

Theis game against Waterford United was cancelled on Friday afternoon, a few hours before the scheduled kick-off.

The FAI has ordered an independent interim review of Athlone Town FC after its failure to fulfil their fixture versus Waterford United on Friday June 3.

The First Division team failed to field a team against Waterford United after a number of players refused to travel to the game.
