Martin O’Neill gives fringe players a chance in team to play Holland

A League of Ireland player has been given a surprise place on the bench for tonight.

Martin O’Neill has named a mixture of regular starters and fringe squad players in his team for Ireland’s penultimate Euro 2016 warm-up game against the Netherlands, writes Stephen Barry.

It will be a last chance for many to stake a claim for inclusion in O’Neill’s final squad of 23, which will be finalised on Tuesday.
