Wolfsburg terminate Nicklas Bendtner's contract

"After two years, we have had to ascertain that the expectations were neither fulfilled for him nor for us."

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have terminated the contract of out-of-favour forward Nicklas Bendtner.

Bendtner, 28, had been released from training duties at the club earlier this year, while director of sport Klaus Allofs had declared the "experiment" of signing the Dane a "failure".
