Former footballer Paul Gascoigne has said he is "determined to get back on track" as he continues his struggle with alcoholism.

The 48-year-old was said to have had "a bad week" as pictures emerged of him with cuts to his face, appearing to carry a bottle of alcohol and being accompanied by a police officer.
