James McClean offers to ‘help out’ guy whose accumulator he ruined

Even when he’s doing things right, McClean still manages to get on the wrong side of someone.

Ah James McClean.

The Derryman is never far from controversy and sometimes appears to relish annoying as many people as possible.

The Irish international was in the news for football-related reasons yesterday, scoring the equaliser for West Brom against Chelsea in the Premier League. The game then ended 2-2.

But even when he’s doing right, McClean still manages to get on the wrong side of someone.

Last night it was football punters, a good number of whom appear to have backed Chelsea to win the game as part of their accumulator bets.

One guy was particularly ungracious about McClean’s goal costing him a payout.

Steven Nesbit, who has since made his tweets private, wrote: “Out of everybody to burst ma coupon , that wee Irish rat James McClean has done me for £250 #scumbag.”

Not one to hold a grudge, McClean didn’t rise to the insults in the tweet.

Instead he very, ahem, kindly offered to give the football fan a dig out until payday.

What a gent. Honestly, we don’t know why people get so cross with him.
