Update at 7.40pm: Real Madrid have been thrown out of the Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player, the Royal Spanish Football Federation has confirmed.

Denis Cheryshev scored the opening goal in Real’s 3-1 first-leg win over Cadiz on Wednesday night, but the Russia international should have been suspended after he received three yellow cards for Villarreal in the competition last season.
