Many said it would never work when Sky Sports first put them together, but they were wrong - let’s take a look back at their greatest moments.

The pair bonded over their shared sense of humour, check them out getting the giggles while straight man Ed Chamberlin tried to do the sports update last December.

In March Carragher took great pleasure taking the p**s out of Neville for his infamous snog with Paul Scholes on the football field.

The craic continued off-camera, with the pair involved in a long-running Twitter battle about Carra wearing a Manchester United jersey as forfeit for losing a bet.

It wasn’t all plain sailing though, in August Neville had his head turned by a flirty foreigner, ganging up with new boy Thierry Henry to laugh at Jamie’s ahem insightful analysis.

But in his heart, he knew no-one could make him laugh like Carra could.

As recently as last month, the pair were once again sniggering like schoolboys - unable to keep straight faces as they reviewed an abysmal performance by Gabby Agbonlahor.

Monday nights just won’t be the same from now on.
