WATCH: Ronaldo makes Guinness world record selfie attempt at his film premiere

Ever the shrinking violet, Cristiano Ronaldo used the premiere of his new film (called Ronaldo, naturally) to attempt to break the world record for selfies in three minutes.

Ever the shrinking violet, Cristiano Ronaldo used the premiere of his new film (called Ronaldo, naturally) to attempt to break the world record for selfies in three minutes.

A conveyer belt of fans queued to pose with the Portuguese star for a quick snap before being quickly ushered away.

Unfortunately Ronaldo didn’t succeed in breaking the existing record, set by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (105 in three minutes, in case you’re interested).

But the star was still presented with a number of certificates for other Guinness world records he holds - including most goals in a UEFA Champions League season by an individual (17), most FIFA World Player of the Year awards (3) and most liked person on Facebook (Male), most followed athlete on Twitter (with 37,831,159 followers as of 15 September 2015) and most hat-tricks in a La Liga career (25).

The film follows the life of the Real Madrid star throughout 2014 - a year when he won the Ballon D’Or.

Former team-mate Gary Neville and manager Alex Ferguson were both in attendance at last night’s premiere in in Leicester Square, London.

Check out the trailer.
