Ronaldo - Roy Keane made me become a better player

Cristiano Ronaldo has said that the presence of Roy Keane at Manchester United made him a better player.

Speaking in an interview with Sport Magazine, the Ballon d'Or explained that when he first arrived at United he used to hold onto the ball too long but advice from Keane helped him solve the problem and ultimately become a better player.

"He (Keane) was always screaming at me, Cristiano pass the ball!. It was good though and I learned a lot from him."

Ronaldo also said that the biggest influence on his career was that of Sir Alex Ferguson, who brought the Portuguese star to Old Trafford when he was an unknown quantity.

"I feel proud that he (Ferguson) pushed me so hard in the early days. One of is best qualities is that he pushed players when they needed it - and in that period of time I needed it,"

"He thought me the basics that have me where I am today. I remember in the beginning - they always say I didn't do decision - making great so he taught me how to do this.

"I don't think I'd be the player I am today without their help."
