Stoke new boy Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed manager Mark Hughes was a major factor in his club record £12m switch from Inter Milan.

The 23-year-old Switzerland international put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Britannia Stadium on Tuesday to hand Hughes a significant boost, and later admitted the Welshman was key to his decision.
