WATCH: Ref knocked out cold by player after showing him a card

A referee was knocked unconscious after issuing a yellow card to a player during a lower league game in Argentina between Ferro and Tiro Federal.

The shocking footage shows the player punching the referee unconscious after he is disciplined following a clumsy challenge.

The footage has gone viral in the past week as the player involved in the moment of madness is Alejandro Roncaglia, brother of defender Facundo Roncaglia, who is currently playing for Argentina in the Copa America.

The match was abandoned as referee Arnaldo Beron was hospitalised after the incident. He required stitches for his injury and also suffered dizziness in the following days.
